Beachgoing, Hiking, Cycling, Watersports, and More In & Around the Beautiful Place by the Sea This Summer

Calling one of our well-appointed Ogunquit.com properties your home away from home, you’ll have the very best of Ogunquit’s summer outdoor fun right at your fingertips.

Beeline for the town’s three-mile-long beachfront, getting some sand between your toes at Ogunquit Beach or Footbridge Beach and taking a dip in the friendly waters. With all sorts of watersports and boat rentals available—kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, jet skis, and more—you’ve got plenty of options for getting out on the water, whether tooling along the sandy seashore or easing your way up the tidal Ogunquit River.

Bask in the coastal loveliness along the paved oceanside walk of the Marginal Way, or seek out trails a bit farther afield. At the Wells Reserve, you can stroll amid precious native habitats, including maritime woods, sand dunes, and tidelands, while the Mount Agamenticus Conservation Region tempts with one of the most significant blocks of intact coastal forest in the entire region.

Mount Agamenticus is also a great place to break out the mountain bike, while road biking options abound, including along Ogunquit’s Shore Road and on the 65-mile-long Eastern Trail bikeway.

You’ve also got some outstanding saltwater angling to partake in, not least on the fishing charters running out of Perkins Cove after bluefish, striped bass, and other prized quarry. Whale-watching cruises give you the chance to get well offshore to scan for spouting humpbacks, finbacks, and even blue whales—the biggest of all animals.
