OgunquitFest Weekend 2023: Autumn Awesomeness in the Beautiful Place by the Sea
This year’s OgunquitFest Weekend, which happens to be the 20th annual running of this mainstay celebration, will take place Friday, October 20th through Sunday, October 22nd.
OgunquitFest is a weekend-long, town-wide affair, with festivities aimed at young and old, two-legged and four-legged. Among its anchoring events is the OgunquitFest Artisan Craft Fair, which will be going down at the Dorothea Jacobs Grant Common on Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd. An amazing lineup of artisans and craftspeople will be showing off their wares in the park and within the adjacent fire station, with live music and tasty eats from food trucks on offer to boot.
Halloween follows fast on the heels of OgunquitFest, so it’s no surprise there are plenty of nods to that deliciously spooky holiday during this weekend bash. While the schedule for this OgunquitFest Weekend 2023 hasn’t been released, there’s typically trick-or-treating woven into the itinerary, plus multiple costumed happenings. Those include the all-out delightful Dogtoberfest costume parade, with a whole pack of dressed-up doggies strutting their stuff.
A classic car show (typically at Main Beach) is among the highlights of OgunquitFest Saturday. And the High Heel Dash (which last year took place on Sunday in Perkins Cove) serves as a benefit for the Frannie Peabody Center, which focuses on supporting those in Maine affected by HIV/AIDS.
