Family-Friendly Accommodations for OgunquitFest

One of the highlights of the year here in the Beautiful Place by the Sea is, without question, the signature annual town festival: OgunquitFest. It’s coming up fast, so now’s the ideal time to lock down your Ogunquit.com accommodations at the Gorges Grant Hotel, the Juniper Hill Inn, the Cottage at Acorn Lane, or the Milestone for the weekend celebration!

OgunquitFest 2019

OgunquitFest this year takes place Friday, October 25th through Sunday, October 27th. As always, it’ll be a town-wide affair suitable for all ages—and an awesome showcase of our famous resort town at its most vibrant.

What’s on tap for the 2019 edition of OgunquitFest? The action gets underway on Friday with some Halloween family fun before things crank up Saturday. That’s the first of two days of the Autumn Bazaar in the Main Beach parking lot, which’ll run 9 AM to 4 PM Saturday and Sunday and feature some 75 vendors offering all kinds of must-have treasures.

Overlapping with the Bazaar in the Main Beach parking lot from 10 AM to 1 PM on Saturday is the Antique & Classic Car Show: Come take a gander at some fine vintage rides and vote on your favorite one! (Winning entrees will be announced on 12:30 PM.)

Also on tap for Saturday is some seasonally appropriate pumpkin-decorating taking place at the Dunaway Center from 10 to 11 AM and a great showcase for Maine’s signature delectables: the Whoopie Pie Eating Contest at the Old Village School Playground starting at noon.

There’ll also be a Halloween-styled obstacle course going down from 2:30 to 3:15 PM on the river edge of Main Beach, plus the OgunquitFest River Rally at a to-be-determined time.

Sunday at OgunquitFest comes just as jampacked. Besides the second day of the Autumn Bazaar, you’ve got the Costume Parade at 11 AM, which in addition to kids and grownups will feature no shortage of dogs as well. The best-dressed among the four-legged paraders will be awarded at 11:30 AM.

Also on the menu for the last day of the festival are the Waiter Races (12:30 PM at the end of Beach Street) and the High Heel Dash & Walk-Off (3 PM at Perkins Cove), two utterly delightful competitions open to any and all willing participants.
