Best Hotels for Ogunquitfest & Halloween

Come celebrate fall—an utterly amazing time to be on the seacoast of Southern Maine, that’s for sure—on an Ogunquit.com getaway overlapping with some of our beloved hamlet’s autumn festivities!

With the whole “Fall For Ogunquit” theme going in October—and, of course, the spooky season fully underway—there’s much to see and do for the whole family this time of year while calling our Gorges Grant Hotel or Juniper Hill Inn your right-in-the-center-of-it-all home base.

Those things-to-see-and-do very much include, of course, the long-running fabulousness of OgunquitFest, the 2022 edition of which runs from Friday, October 21st through Sunday, October 23rd.

OgunquitFest 2022

As usual, there’ll really be something for everybody at this year’s OgunquitFest, and no small amount of Halloween-y fun woven into the mix, given its proximity to All Hallow’s Eve.

On that front, Friday sees local businesses participating in downtown trick-or-treating from 5 to 7 PM. The next day, October 22nd, Perkins Cove throws a Halloween parade and costume contest as well as its own round of morning trick-or-treating, while Main Beach sees the utterly delightful Dogtoberfest Costume Parade and Beach Walk, with a whole pack-full of gussied-up pooches strutting their stuff.

The Superhero 5K & Kids Fun Run at noon Saturday on Main Beach, which also incorporates plenty of costume action, serves as a very worthy fundraiser for the local non-profit Rett’s Roost, dedicated to supporting families affected by childhood cancer.

Other activities at OgunquitFest include the Classic Car Show on Saturday at Main Beach—always a spectacle—and Sunday’s High Heel Dash at Perkins Cove. There are also multiple markets going down, including the 4th Annual Greek Market at Nikanos on Saturday and the OgunquitFest Artisan & Vendor Craft Fair at Dorothea Jacobs Grant Common and the Dunaway Center on both Saturday and Sunday.

From book signings to a boisterous Oktoberfest, there’s plenty else going on during OgunquitFest this year, so be sure to check out the full rundown right here.
