The 41st Annual Kennebunkport Christmas Prelude

There’s a whole slew of fun on tap as usual, including the Cape Porpoise Lobster Trap Tree lighting on Friday the 2nd and a couple of tree-lighting ceremonies in Dock Square (on the 2nd and the 9th). Santa Claus himself makes a few grand entrances to the Christmas Prelude, arriving in signature Mainer fashion by lobster boat on Sunday, December 4th and by fire engine on Sunday, December 11th.

Other Christmas Prelude events include the Prelude Street Festival and Christmas Fireworks Display on December 9th and the Christmas Fireworks Display on December 11th.

Ogunquit’s 36th Annual Christmas by the Sea Celebration

Not to be outdone, Ogunquit throws one of its biggest bashes of the year in the form of Christmas by the Sea, the 36th edition of which goes down December 9th through the 11th. With a room at The Gorges Grant Hotel, you’ll be just a stone’s throw away from the townwide festivities.

Friday the 9th sees holiday tree lightings taking place in both Perkins Cove and Veterans Park, with a concert by the Atlantic Harmonies Choir at the Ogunquit Baptist Church that evening.

On Saturday, there’ll be an Artisan Craft Fair at the Dunaway Center and the delightful Christmas Parade along Shore Road between Perkins Cove and Main Beach, where a bonfire and fireworks show follow. The Seacoast Men of Harmony perform at the Baptist Church that night.
