2017 Season at Ogunquit Playhouse

We’re speaking of course of the Ogunquit Playhouse, which got its start back in the 1930s during the “Little Theatre Movement” that established theater companies and brought Broadway-style shows all across the country.
Be a Part of the Ogunquit Playhouse’s 85th Anniversary Season
This year marks a very special one for the Playhouse: It’s the beloved institution’s 85th anniversary season, and the milestone is being celebrated with a thrilling itinerary. Two freshly minted musicals are having their world premieres here: From Here to Eternity, based on the James Jones classic and featuring lyrics by Tim Rice (whose impressive C.V. also includes Evita and The Lion King); and Heartbreak Hotel, the latest from the team behind the Tony Award-winning Million Dollar Quartet (which the Ogunquit Playhouse performed last year). Heartbreak Hotel presents Elvis Presley—one of the Sun Studios superstars who participated in the “Million Dollar Quarter” recording session—at the dawn of his earthshaking career.
Heartbreak Hotel runs August 30 through September 30, while From Here to Eternity takes the stage October 4 to October 29.
A Trio of Classics
Besides those exciting debuts, the Ogunquit Playhouse will also present three blockbuster musicals to kick off its anniversary season: Mamma Mia! (May 17 through July 1), Bullets Over Broadway (July 5 through July 29), and Ragtime (August 2 through August 26).
A Bit of Holiday Magic
The season closes out with another holiday collaboration between the Playhouse and Portsmouth, New Hampshire’s historic Music Hall: the return of White Christmas (November 29 through December 17).
