Perhaps, though, you’d like to do more than simply eating fine food: Perhaps you’d like to roll up your sleeves and learn some culinary techniques and new recipes yourself. In that case, we’ve got just the thing: cooking classes at the Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School in nearby York!

Take a Cooking Class at the Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School

Stonewall Kitchen, which sells its preserves, sauces, oils, and other culinary products worldwide, operates a fantastic cooking school out of its York headquarters. These demo-style classes led by Stonewall Kitchen chef-instructors over an amazing amount of territory: all sorts of different cuisines tackled, cookery techniques to suit everyone from beginners to ace home cooks. The aim of the Cooking School is to offer something for everybody, and we think they succeed magnificently in that department.

A merely casual survey of some upcoming classes offered this spring gives some indication of the variety on tap at the Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School. On Thursday, April 18th, for instance, there’s “Mad for Mediterranean,” which’ll walk you through the preparation of such light and richly flavorful recipes as a roasted garlic feta dip and castelvetrano olive humus (paired with whole-wheat pita), an herb-crusted rack of lamb dressed with cucumber mint yogurt, spiced baby carrots, and a pistachio bread pudding topped off with cardamom crème anglaise. (We should have warned you your stomach’s going to start growling with these class descriptions.)

The next day, the Cooking School gives you tips on quick, easy, and delicious dinners with its “Just Right for Tonight” class, covering everything from pulled pork with a house-made ginger barbecue sauce to a heavenly blueberry cobbler.

On Wednesday, April 24th, Chef Kate Chaisson will help you celebrate the bounty of the season with her “Garden Café” session. On Friday, April 26th, Chef Stephanie Cmar—who competed in Season 11 of Top Chef—shares some of her go-to dishes in one of Stonewall Kitchen’s “What Inspires Me – Celebrity Chef” series, with such delights as truffled cheddar mac-and-cheese and roasted chicken thighs with puttanesca, potatoes, and cauliflower on the menu.
